The Office of Emergency Management is contacting all of the nursing homes and schools and other select facilities of particular importance to the community -- requesting copies of their facility's Crisis Plans.

These plans are being integrated into the resource library used at the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) -- here at the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) -- Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) -- to be used to speed proper response to any natural or man-made emergency within our county.

The EOC at the OEM coordinates all emergency services involved in large-scale incidents/disasters such as storm damage, fire, security, evacuations, and any other emergencies which overload the capabilities of local first responders (Fire Department, Police Department, etc).

All Crisis Plans are secured in the Library of the EOC; and viewed only by the emergency operations personnel. These plans are for official use -- the public has no access to them.

Our office will also assist facilities with the development of their plans upon request by the facility.

We have many resources available -- please see the http://kalamazooemergencymanagement.org/planning page -- or select the "Planning" tab at left for additional details.

Tom Miller, 269-383-8795 is in the process of contacting facilities for their plans.
