David L. Schneider
Dave Schneider joined the Office of Emergency Management in June, 2004.
Dave worked as a professional broadcaster for 10 years, serving 2 years as a
Personnel Specialist in the Office of the Chief of Staff of the Army in the
Pentagon and part-time stints as a janitor and a bartender, all before beginning
a career with the State of Michigan in 1976.
Dave was employed by the Michigan Department of Human Services for 26 years,
serving as the Administrative Manager for the Kalamazoo County office for the
last 16. He retired from the State in November, 2002. Dave served as the
Department's representative on the Kalamazoo County Disaster Committee from 1986
through 2002.
Dave has one son and one daughter and lives with his wife of 23 years on 12
acres near Mattawan. He is active in the Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Services
(RACES) and the Kalamazoo Amateur Radio Club and includes computers and nature
photography as hobbies.
Dave serves as a Regional Planner within Michigan's 5th District.
